Affiliate disclosure
Short version: no outbound link on this site is a paid link. Some are meant to become paid links once a retailer program is approved, and this page will say so the day that changes. You pay exactly the same price either way, and commission plays no part in what appears here or in what order.

Each one carries the disclosure in the body of the page, above the first paid link, and the research method that decides what appears there is published in full.
Who pays us
Nobody pays us. Retailers are the only party who ever will, and brands never do.
Every commercial link on this site today goes to Snowys Outdoors, whose affiliate program runs through Commission Factory, an Australian network. We hold accounts with no other retailer, and no link on this site points anywhere else for the purpose of earning a commission.
Earlier drafts of this page named 2 more retailers, and both are deliberately absent from that list. Wild Earth stocks relevant gear but its fridge listings are rendered by JavaScript and we could not read enough of them to publish a name and a price we stand behind. Amazon Australia was not used at all: it files 12V fridges in a 2.00% category and runs a 24 hour click window against the 30 days the Australian specialists offer, which makes it the wrong destination for a considered purchase in this price range.
Dometic, Engel, ARB, Bushman, EvaKool, myCOOLMAN and every other manufacturer named on this site have no commercial relationship with us. They do not pay us, they have no say in what we publish, and they get no advance sight of it.

What this site earns today: nothing
This site holds no affiliate program with any retailer in that table. Australian affiliate networks want a live, content-complete site in front of them before they will consider an application, which is the right way round, so the site was built first and the commercial arrangements come after it.
What that means for you is plain enough. Every outbound retailer link on this site currently points at the retailer’s ordinary public page, with no tracking attached to it, and it earns us nothing at all. Not a reduced amount: nothing. If you buy a fridge through a link on this site today, no money reaches us.
We label those links as paid links anyway, and this page was written before there was a cent behind it. The relationship is the thing that needs disclosing, and a disclosure that only turns up once the money does is worth very little. When a program is approved, the status in the table above changes and the date under the heading changes with it.
How much, and why it is worth telling you
Commission in this category is thin. For the retailers this site actually links to, the published affiliate listings sat between 2.0% and 3.2% of the sale price in July 2026. Rates below that exist in this vertical but they belong to coupon and cashback publishers at retailers we do not link to, so quoting them here would understate what we stand to make and flatter us for it. On a fridge, that is tens of dollars, not hundreds. We mention it because the numbers make the point better than a promise does: there is not enough money in this to be worth misleading you for, and the difference between the retailers is far too small to be worth ranking a product around.
What we do not do
We do not accept free product. We do not accept review units, loan units, gifts or discounts from brands. We do not sell placement, sponsored posts, guest posts, link insertions or a higher position in any table. Nobody can buy their way onto this site.
We do not use commission rate as a ranking factor. The factors we do use are published in full on the page setting out how every figure here is sourced, and the commission rate is not among them. Where the right place to buy something is a retailer we earn nothing from, we say so and link there anyway.
We label every outbound retail link as a paid link, including links that currently earn us nothing because a program has not approved us yet. Over-disclosing costs you nothing. Under-disclosing costs you the ability to trust anything else on the page.
If you think commission has influenced something
Tell us. Send it through the contact form with the page, the product, and what you think we got wrong or weighted wrongly.
We will re-check it against the sources on the page. If we were wrong we will change it, and we will note on the page that it changed and when. If we still think the call was right, we will explain the reasoning to you rather than quietly ignore the message.
If you are not satisfied with that, you can report the conduct of any Australian business, including this one, to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission at accc.gov.au. We would rather say that out loud than have you wonder whether we would.
Why this page exists
The ACCC’s guidance for comparator websites (August 2015) treats disclosure buried in terms and conditions or in footer fine print as not prominent disclosure. That is why the disclosure appears in the body of every page carrying paid links, above the first one, and why this page is a supplement to it rather than a substitute for it.
